Your Homeowner Fall To-Do List
Your Homeowner Fall To-Do List
November 9, 2025
Simple tasks to keep your home happy, healthy, and holiday-ready.
Fall at the coast looks a little different than it does inland.
While we’re still enjoying mild days and cool evenings, now’s the perfect time to give your home a little attention before the hustle of the holidays. Whether you’re new to the area or a seasoned coastal homeowner, a few easy projects can go a long way toward protecting your investment and keeping things running smoothly.
Here’s your quick November checklist- straight from your neighbors at Trusst.
1. Clean those gutters and downspouts.
Even in our milder climate, leaves, pine needles, and coastal debris can pile up fast. Keeping your gutters clear prevents water from backing up and damaging your roof, siding, or foundation. Bonus: it’s oddly satisfying to check this one off.
2. Swap out your HVAC filter.
Cooler evenings mean more time indoors. Replacing your air filter keeps the system efficient and your air fresh- especially important after a humid summer.
3. Trim trees and shrubs.
Coastal winds have a mind of their own. Keep branches away from your roofline and outdoor structures to prevent storm-season surprises.
4. Touch up your paint and caulking.
Salt air and sunshine can wear on your home’s exterior. A quick touch-up around windows, doors, and trim helps seal out moisture and keeps your home looking sharp.
5. Refresh your outdoor spaces.
Swap the pumpkins for potted evergreens or lanterns, sweep off that porch, and make sure your outdoor lighting is ready for those earlier sunsets. It’s also a great time to plan where that holiday décor will go- before you’re digging through storage bins in the cold.
6. Take stock of your cozy corners.
A little prep now makes hosting easier later. Think: guest linens, serving dishes, and that candle you forgot you loved. You don’t have to overhaul everything- just make your spaces feel welcoming for the season ahead.
Life on the Coast Moves with the Seasons
One of the best parts of coastal living is how every season has its rhythm. Fall is slower, calmer, and a reminder to settle in- to enjoy the view from your porch, the sound of the leaves in the wind, and the comfort of a home that’s been well cared for.
At Trusst, we build the house - you build the home.
Here’s to a happy, comfortable, and coastal November.
